Stylish new look for coastal suburban shopping centre.
BN Group were given the brief to design an ambience upgrade for Warriewood Square on Sydney’s northern beaches, the aim to bring the shopping centre out of the 1990’s and into the future.
A key aspect of the concept elements sought by the designers was to set a new contemporary theme to blend with the relaxed coastal lifestyle of the region. This included the use of directional timber beam features positioned in such a way as to achieve a flow from the exterior through into the mall. To accomplish this, suitable matching linings were needed for both applications.
SUPAWOOD were able to advise on the most suitable products to use for exterior and interior applications, and then supply samples so the designers could match timber finishes.
At the entrance from the new undercover parking station into the malls a woodgrain finished ALUCLICK Quick Click Beam has been used. This easy to install aluminium beam is ideal for moist and humid areas. Above the walkway leading to the main entrance the beams have been installed to flow across the ceiling and down the top of the wall.

The ALUCLICK beams above the entrance change direction to echo the internal MAXI BEAM ceiling feature which runs from the door down the mall. The MAXI BEAM ceiling features have been used throughout the mall to create direction and define areas. Services have been integrated into the beam features.
The timber finishes used for both products closely match; ALUCLICK in Natural Curly Birch woodgrain and MAXI BEAM in SUPALAMI Rustic Oak. Both products are pre-finished and supplied to size for minimal disruption during installation in a live environment.
Last refurbished in 1999, this new redevelopment has more than tripled the size of the centre and adjacent parking facilities, and revitalised it into a vibrant modern destination hub for the local community.
