Recycled timber slats matched for use in heritage building fit-out
Posted By: Colin Beattie | CEO 26th, July 2021
The Lindfield Learning Centre is a group of 1970’s Brutalist heritage listed buildings which have been renovated for reuse. The designers’ brief was to recycle existing materials in the interior while ensuring that the fit-out would remain totally reversible.
SUPAWOOD were approached to recycle existing solid Teak timber slats for the ceiling of one of the vast learning spaces. Over such a large space, extra slats were required to make up the balance needed. We were able to perfectly match the recycled ones with stained solid Tasmanian Oak ones.
SUPAWOOD also were able to recommend an experienced installer, offer short lead times, and provide the 7-year warranty required. The slatted panels were also supplied so they were suitable for service accesses to be cut onsite.
This project shows how SUPAWOOD can help look after the environment by recycling effectively.
