Matched timber finishes flow from inside to out for retirement village entry

SUPALINE interior and exterior panels have been used to lift the atmosphere of the entry into the RSL Lifecare Tobruk Village in Austral NSW.

The brief for the facelift required cost-efficient timber look panels for walls that extended from the interior out into the exterior of the space and also to replace stackstone tiles on a exterior 'vertical fin'. The finish on both the interior and exterior panels needed to match as closely as possible to existing timber cladding on the columns within the space.

The client consulted SUPAWOOD to advise on suitable panel options to apply to each of the spaces that could be matched so the warm feel of the timber could flow seamlessly through from one to the other.

After a review of budget pricing and product samples was undertaken, it was decided to proceed with our recommendation of SUPALINE Aluminium in a SUPAMETAL timber finish for the external sections, and SUPALINE on a FR MDF in SUPAFINISH timber laminate for the internal area. Both products were supplied in an appropriate finish of Tasmanian Oak to achieve the very closest match possible.

It was also essential that both the finishes and the substrates chosen were fit for purpose in this type of application. The result of the choices for the panels for both areas were Fire Group 1 and zero VOC.
