Futurespace’s homely open workspace achieved with slats
SUPAWOOD’s SUPASLAT acoustic slatted ceiling panels have helped to create a homely atmosphere in the fit-out of Richard Crookes Constructions’ (RCC) new workplace in Artarmon NSW.
A family owned constructions company, RCC commissioned interior designers Futurespace to create an open, informal holistic work environment to reflect their family values and offer a sense of home. The designers looked for honest and informal materials to reflect these which were also practical, flexible and long lasting.

SUPASLAT acoustic slatted ceilings contributed greatly to achieving the desired homely atmosphere.
Flexible spaces within the open-plan work areas have been adapted to suit different work styles. These spaces are both transparent and inclusive to provide malleable formal and casual interaction between staff and visitors alike.
Like the heart of the family home, a large central informal kitchen is the main place where people come together. The vast ceiling in this area has been softened with the texture of a SUPASLAT profile 1 slatted ceiling in white and noise reverberation dulled by using an acoustic option. The texture of the slats breaks up the vast surface of the ceiling and the white finish gives the area a light airy feel.
In other breakouts, meeting rooms and smaller multi-purpose areas, feature SUPASLAT acoustic ceilings and walls profile 1 and a Tasmanian Oak concept veneer finish define areas, create intimacy and introduce the warm texture of timber.
SUPAWOOD were chosen here for their capabilities to advise, fabricate and supply within a tight lead-time a dependable quality product which would help to achieve the harmonious, engaging and homely atmosphere the designers envisaged.
