Contemporary maritime theme achieved with aluminium beams
An ALUCLICK aluminium beam ceiling by SUPAWOOD has been creatively used in the Swimwear Galore retail outlet in Mentone, a bayside suburb of Melbourne, Victoria.
The client’s brief was to create a contemporary atmosphere that not only complimented their merchandise but also reflected the store’s bayside location. The design called for a chunky looking slatted product to use on the ceiling which needed to maintain an open and light interior while also allowing for integration of services and access into the ceiling above. Additionally, easy and quick installation was priority.
ALUCLICK was the ideal choice as it achieved all the requirements of the design brief.
ALUCLICK is an extruded aluminium decorative beam system designed by SUPAWOOD to “click lock” into a standard suspension system. This versatile beam product is supplied as a complete system which includes framing, so installation is extremely quick and easy.
The ALUCLICK beams have been installed on the ceiling in such a way that they define key areas of the shop. By running the beams in different directions, a decorative pattern has been achieved. A SUPAMETAL high gloss Pearl White powder coated finish has been used to aid the reflection of light throughout the interior, creating a more open atmosphere. This sharp, crisp finish has achieved a very stylish and contemporary feel to the fit-out.
The ALUCLICK, supplied as 6500 x 100 beams, was cut on site to length and installed at 150mm centres. By choosing an open spacing for the beams, services such as fire sprinklers and tracks for spotlights could be placed between them.
